There are many wonderful and festive traditions associated with the holiday season known as Christmas. Some of those traditions include decorating the outside area or home with Christmas lights, hanging Christmas cards on the entranceway of the inside doors of the home, the exchanging of Christmas gifts, etc.

If you would like to make your own Christmas tree ornament, the first thing you are going to have to do is decide what type of ornaments you want to make. There are angel ornaments, snowmen ornaments, Christmas tree ornaments, joy and noel ornaments, and Santa Claus ornaments, just to give a few ideas.

The angel Christmas tree ornament is especially popular, because it is so beautiful and reminiscent of this wonderful time of year. All you need is a clothespin, a couple of bows, and some glitter and a permanent marker. To create the ornament you simply glue on a bow to the clothespin as a bow in the angel's hair, dot a couple of eyes on with the permanent marker, add some glitter for her dress, and you are finished. Of course you can make a more extravagant angel ornament but this is just a very basic pattern to get you started.

In addition to the traditional Christmas ornaments which capture and represent the true meaning of Christmas, there are personal Christmas ornaments that can adorn the Christmas tree. Often these personal ornaments capture a specific time in the family's life or represent a special occasion. They are meant to personalize that particular family's Christmas and serve to invoke fond memories for the family's celebration.

Now it really all depends on you and the type of Christmas tree that you would like to make, as well as what sort of decorations you would like to put on the tree. Your options are almost endless here, and you can make tons of different Christmas tree ornaments from using colored cardboard paper, glitter and ribbons alone.

Another idea for a personalized Christmas ornament can be an ornament that symbolizes the marriage of a husband and wife. This particular ornament may have been purchased for the first Christmas together to adorn the tree. Therefore, year after year, that same ornament can be placed on the tree and the symbolism can represent the love of God and the love between the couple and the endurance of their marriage.
