FAQ: Microsoft Dynamics GP Implementation - ERP Selection

1- How much does Dynamics GP cost?

The Software budget depends on the package and modules you'll need: Dynamics GP Business Essentials or Advanced Management. Fruther, the actual implementation, possible customization, data migration and Great Plains Training (which depends on the knowledge and quantity of users).

If you double the Software Price (User Licenses, Modules and Support Plan) you will get a rough picture of the total price. But again, this is just a ballpark figure and at the end it all depends on your specific requirements.

2- Our company is running a small Accounting System and due to Business growth and expansion we are willing to switch and convert our data to Great Plains. Is this feasible?

This is definitely possible. There are many Accounting Systems which can be switched to Microsoft Great Plains. If necessary we can analyze your current system and find out if it would be a feasible Migration Project.

3- What Database systems are compatible with MS Great Plains?

SQL Server and MSDE are compatible with Great Plains version 8.0 and newer versions. Besides SQL and MSDE all older versions of Great Plains Standard may run under CTree and/or Pervasive SQL (formerly called Btrieve) which makes Migration necessary in case you want to upgrade to version 9.0.
