We are all different when it comes to air travel and the type of clothing we wear while traveling. There are some travelers who dress in suits, others in blue jeans, and still others who wear something as comfy as possible, such as their pj's or sweat pants. With the recent step-up in airport security and the recent change in air travel regulations, many people wonder if the clothing they wear to the airport is important. If you are one of those individuals, you can be sure that in most cases, it is not.

Ever since airplanes became the fashionable way to travel, a focus has been put on being comfortable. Irrespective of whether or not you will be taking a long flight, you'll still want to be as comfortable as possible. There is nothing worse than wearing an itchy sweater or tight pair of pants and being severla thousand feet in the air with no change of clothes available. Unless you bring a change of clothes with you in your carryon bag, you are just plain out of luck. That's why it's crucial that you think of what you will wear before you ever leave for the airport.

When it comes to comfort, as previously mentioned, many air travelers make the decision to wear sweat pants and a comfortable top. In addition to being comfortable, you will find, in most cases, that these types of clothes are the best for airport security, especially when entering airport screening checkpoints. This is because most sweat pants are not made with any metal items. Essentially, this means that you should be able to enter the security checkpoint and leave it quicker than most other travelers, such as the travelers who are decked out in accessories.

Where clothing accessories are concerned, you'll find out that a number of diverse items set off airport metal detectors. It is for this reason that most airport security officers call for you to take off all of your jewelry. Once your jewelry is removed, you'll want to place it in a small bin, which will be scanned by the airport security personnel right along with your carryon baggage. Whether you have rings or a necklace, you are well-advised to remove them, if you can.

Another air travel regulation, recently enforced, is the ban of liquids. This means that adults are no longer permitted to bring a drink onboard, even a bottle of purified water. It also signifies that you are banned from placing liquid beauty supplies in your carryon luggage. One concern, expressed by many women is the allowance of gel or water filled bras. Presently, you are permitted to wear these types of bras onboard an airplane. Realistically, unless you bring it up to airport security, there is a good chance that they would never know anyway.

Because there are actually no regulations or limitations on the clothing that you can wear while flying, you need to decide for yourself. Whether you prefer to be stylish or comfy, it is all up to you.
