An increasing number of features are being added in the new trendy social networking sites, going beyond the traditional features such as adding a profile, adding friends and exchanging text messages.

Racha Salman, the CEO of Ace Multimedia & Consulting, who has launched the Jawwna.com website in late 2007, adds that today's social networking sites should address users concerns related to privacy and anonymity.

She adds, site like Jawwna offer online games in Flash that users can upload, online video uploads and sharing, interactive Chat rooms with video and voice and much more

"We go way beyong the old Hi5 or Myspace" she adds, in terms of interactivity and features, as well as privacy and security

Representatives also said that jawwna.com is the first social networking website created to unite Middle-Easterns in a structured, safe environment. It is a free and open portal, with features that include blogging, photo and video sharing, forums, blogs, chat, and classified ads. It also targets Middle-Easterns living in the United States and Europe and creates a link between them and their countrymen at home. Finally it also provides a social space for the many Asian and European expatriates living in the UAE and the other GCC countries to network and interact.
