There are hundreds of web sites on the Internet which feature blank and ready-to-be-filled coloring pages. These printable coloring pages are very similar to the coloring pages in a coloring book except that you need to selectively print them from the Internet using your computer printer. Once the coloring page of your or your kid’s choice appears on the computer monitor, you can click the “Print” command and print the page on your printer. You can print these pages in sets of five or ten and give them to your child to color. Type “coloring pages” into any major search engine and be prepared to be bombarded with thousands of search results featuring printable coloring pages.

On Demand Printable Coloring Pages

The advantage printable coloring pages have over traditional coloring books is that printable coloring pages can be printed on demand based on your child’s specific individual preference. If your little one is fascinated by Disney characters such as Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse or Tinker Bell, you can selectively choose to print coloring pages on this particular theme. Cartoon characters tend to constantly fall in and out of fashion. If the current trend is that of Ben 10 or the Incredibles, you can easily generate hundreds of printable coloring pages based only on these cartoon characters. The minuscule effort it takes to compile an on demand coloring book is worth the smile on your child’s lips.

Learning Color Names through Printable Coloring Pages

Printable coloring pages can incite the imagination along with silliness. It can help your child to learn the names of colors, shades and hues. Many crayon boxes carry color charts that help children to choose the right colors to use on a printable coloring page. Some web sites also contain information, tips and tricks on using the right colors when coloring these pages. In no time, your little one will be able to tell crimson from velvet and all the various blues and greens. So the next time you go looking for a new kids activity for your little one, why not turn on your computer and print a few printable coloring pages for your child. It is really no effort and your child will beam both before and after the fact.
