The Apple iPhone 3G - the jewel in O2's crown!

Due out on July 11th is a mobile phone destined to be the shining light of O2's product range. But can it really be that good? C an the Apple iPhone 3G really beat all other mobile phones?
Apple iPhone 3G - what makes it so special?
On June 9th, a product was released that made fans of mobile phones and Apple lovers in particular, go gaga with excitement. It'd been nearly a year since the first iPhone was unveiled, and now, the newest evolution had just been let out of the bag. It's set to be unleashed on the world, on O2, on July 11th. But how is this new Apple iPhone 3G better than other mobile phones? Well, first of all, it has an awesome 3.5 inch touchscreen, meaning that all the coolest features and awesome functions are there for you, quite literally, at your fingertips. And what control you have, as the Apple iPhone 3G is the second device in the history of mobile phones to be built on top of the amazingly intuitive Apple OS-X. Only one other mobile phone came before it, and that was the original iPhone.
As you may know, there was a certain amount of criticism levelled at the original iPhone. Other mobile phones have more features, they said, other mobile phones are more powerful. And at the time, despite the amazing interface, they were right. Other mobile phones COULD outclass the iPhone, although, that's will be harder to do with the Apple iPhone 3G, coming soon on O2. The main thing that was missing from the first iPhone was 3G, and that was where other, more well-known mobile phones won hands down. That's not a problem now, however, because the Apple iPhone 3G, as the name implies, joins the world of mobile phones that DO have 3G. And crikey is it fast, as it uses HSDPA, letting you connect to the web at up to 3Mbps. As well as that, you get GPS, and we should all understand how useful and invaluable GPS is!
Apple iPhone 3G - is this the phone of the future?
After the all the hype, is the Apple iPhone 3G really a brave new world for mobile phones? Is it ACTUALLY that important? Well, it is, but maybe not in the way you suspect...
You see, the Apple iPhone 3G is, similar to its ancestor, flawed. It's not perfect, and whilst that can apply to most mobile phones, with the Apple iPhone 3G, it's being hyped up as the ultimate phone. However, if you pick a feature at random, the camera, you'll see that in that particular field it's average at best, and at worst, utter rubbish. In the present world of mobile phones with cameras built in, that's a very bad thing. So, if it's not perfect, why is the Apple iPhone 3G so important? Well, it's simply because the Apple iPhone 3G, coming soon on O2, has provoked other mobile phones to improve their offerings. In other words, manufacturers like Nokia and Sony Ericsson are really fighting to make up ground, and take the fight to this usurper. That's why it's important: the Apple iPhone 3G is forcing manufacturers to make better mobile phones, and hey, that can only be a good thing for us, the customers!
