Understanding a Wet Kit

First of all, you should understand that a wet kit is usually found on trucks or semi-trucks with Power Take Off (PTO). The hydraulic pump, which is installed on the truck with accessories like booms or cranes, is usually set in motion by the PTO. When the hydraulic pump is triggered, its accessories come into action.

Each wet kit contains an assortment of components. These components include PTO'S, pumps, control valves, filters, reservoirs/tanks, and/or hydraulic hoses and fittings. When the PTO activates the hydraulic pump, it gets started and pushes the hydraulic fluid through the hoses and into the cylinders. Then the machines can lift loads or do any other operations. The expelled fluid is placed back in the reservoir once the load has been lifted. Continuing the closed cycle indefinitely, it is again sucked up by the hydraulic pump.

You can buy the complete wet kit machine from various manufacturers. Machine components can also be purchased individually. Other types of wet kits, which are also referred to as wetline kits, that are available are:

1. Wetline kits for dumper trailers - Wetline kits are amazingly efficient. They can make 3000psi of pressure! These kits have a single acting cylinder and a control valve. As per your requirement, tailor made kits are also available.

2. Wetline kits for utility trailers - These types of kits have the ability to produce high pressures for low flow of fluids.

Besides these, wetline kits of many other capacities for different applications are available to buy. The pressure developed by the hydraulic pump and the flow of the hydraulic fluid will determine the capacity of these systems. As the flow of the hydraulic fluid increases, the size of the reservoir also increases accordingly.

Wetline kits have no standard size. Wetline kits are usually tailor made as per the request of the customers. It is better to consult the manufacturer of the wetline kit, explain your requirements, and then purchase the kit. Manufacturers will suggest specific wetline kits to suit your needs.

There are assorted possible arrangements of the hydraulic pump (dump pump) and valve system that control the flow of the fluid. These possible arrangements are as follows:

1. Two line dump pump system - The control valve and the dump pump are integrated with each other in this system. This is helpful to the dump trailer that uses it on and off.

2. Three line dump system - In this system the hydraulic pump and the control valve are integrated, just like in the last system. This system can be used, however, for dump trailers that run continuously.

3. Separate pump and control valve system - This particular system has the hydraulics pump and the control valve apart from each other.
