Many website owners find the task of creating a website and then promoting that website a daunting prospect. This is especially true for anyone who is creating their own website for the first time. Although they may have great knowledge about their website niche, this is not enough when it comes to generating traffic to the site to get the information read. Unless a website owner is creating a site on an obscure topic, the likelihood is that there will be millions (or sometimes billions!) of websites to compete against for search engine traffic. This means that the site needs to generate the all important backlinks that play a significant part in many of the top search engines algorithms for high search engine placement. This is where writing and submitting articles to article directories can be very rewarding, but this is not the only benefit:

PLR articles are certainly very popular at the minute, but you will more than likely find that submitting them to article directories (including Article Blotter!) as is will almost certainly result in rejection. I find that many PLR articles will need corrections and re-writing in places in any case, but PLR articles should be used as a basis for an article rather than “ready” articles. There are many good PLR membership sites currently and I myself am a member of a few. One recommendation for anyone looking for private label content is InfoGoRound. They offer PLR articles and a LOT more, but remember to alter those articles to your own words .

From looking through various author profile pages i’ve noticed that many members aren’t using their profile page to maximize the exposure of their sites. Your author profile page can be located from many areas throughout the site, potentially placing your website(s) url in front of many visitors. It only takes a minute to update your profile, but may help in driving traffic to your website.

You could even provide a bio about yourself, and upload a photo to your public profile!

Simply login to your account > click on “My User Profiles” > click on the edit icon under “Public Profile”

One of the most important parts of your article is the title. Your article title provides the first impression to a prospective reader and should be enticing and keyword rich. You may only have a second or two to catch the attention of internet surfers, so take the opportunity provided from your article title to the maximum. Think what would catch your eye if you were to be searching for information on your topic, and which words or phrases would tempt you to find out more by essentially reading the entire article.

Remember also to keep your title keyword rich. This of course conveys to the reader what your article is about, and will also help in ranking your article high in search engine results.
