Although the state of New Jersey does provide first time home buyers assistance it is limited to only a single program. This is understandable when considering the severe financial strain the state has been under for the last decade. Government officials have been engaged in significant belt tightening programs since Gov. Christie took over a couple of years ago, and that includes limiting the amount of assistance for housing needs.
