For Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill, Donald Trump’s sit-down with television host and doctor Mehmet Oz is a “marriage made in heaven” of “two snake oil salesmen.”
The ardent Clinton supporter famously grilled Oz during a 2014 hearing for hawking “miracle” products.

“Yeah. Dr. Oz,” the Democratic senator remarked at the end of an interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “Yeah, well, isn’t that a pair? Oh, my Lord. Talk about two snake oil salesmen.”
McCaskill mused, “I mean, one of them says, you know, take a pill and you’ll be thin from your lips to God’s ear, wouldn’t we all love that? Not true, not medically true, not scientifically true, and Dr. Oz knows it, and he does it all the time.”
“Then we’ve got Donald Trump promising things that are totally not true, lying every time almost he opens his mouth,” McCaskill said. “So I think it’s a marriage made in heaven, Dr. Oz and Donald Trump.”
During the hearing, Oz told McCaskill that he has “never sold supplements” and that his “job on the show is to be a cheerleader for the audience.”
